Pre- and

rehabilitation.
Aquatic
Therapy:The multi-depth heated
indoor pool provides a comfortable medium to exercise in for those who may not
tolerate land-based therapy.The indoor
pool also has deep water well for those patients requiring complete
buoyancy.The aquatic certified
therapist develops a comprehensive plan of treatment.The therapist works with the patient in a
warm pool to achieve a variety of goals.
We are equipped with locker rooms
and showers to complement your pool experience.We also offer water aerobic and conditioning classes in conjunction with
Cobblestone Health and Wellness Club.
Spinal Rehabilitation: Burch Physical Therapy has developed a
revolutionary spinal rehab program that emphasizes dynamic lumbar stabilization
and reeducation of your deep core muscles. Each treatment will be tailored to
your specific symptomology and diagnosis. Blends of the following
techniques are used as needed to assist patients on their road to recovery.

Athletic & Physical Enhancement Program: Sports-specific clinics and physical conditioning
classes are offered to enhance sporting performance and improve your overall
game. Whether you are an athlete and want to improve your performance or you
just want to improve your overall physical abilities, these classes will aid in
self- improvement.
Lymphedema: A condition involving an abnormal accumulation of
protein-rich fluid in tissue spaces. It is a result of an inadequate or damaged
lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is important to the immune and
circulatory systems. We treat this condition through manual therapy and
specific bandaging techniques to assist normal flow through the lymphatic system.
Our physical therapist is certified through the Norton School of Lymphatic
Therapy.
Post breast cancer physical therapy: Depending upon the type of
breast cancer surgery or reconstruction procedure used by surgeons, patients
may experience various responses during the healing process. Manual physical
therapy involves the use of variety of techniques including myofascial,
strain-counterstrain, and joint/soft tissue mobilization to improve these
dysfunctions associated with post-breast cancer surgery.
Orthotic/splint fabrication: Bryan Burch has advanced training in foot
orthotic-making. The patient is evaluated and appropriate custom orthotics is
fabricated to accommodate the patient’s foot needs. Alex vonDachenhausen, PT,
CHT (Certified Hand Therapist) has years of experience and expertise in hand
splinting.
Balance
rehabilitation and training:Nearly
every year half of the population in the United States 65 and over will
experience a fall.Ninety percent of
the 350,000 hip fractures occurring each year in the US are the result of a fall.Balance disorders can adversely affect a
person’s ability to safely function from day-to-day.Our program is designed to benefit a wide
spectrum of patients affected by vestibular disorders, peripheral neuropathies,
neurogenic disease, dizziness related cervical dysfunction, high risk for falls
cerebral vascular accident, dizziness, disequilibrium, and benign paroxysmal
positional vertigo.This program
utilizes multiple assessments to identify and treat specific balance
disorders.
Isokinetic
testing/ training:Isokinetic
testing and strength training utilizes advanced exercise and testing equipment
with software to provide objective data important to patient
rehabilitation.The isokinetic exercise
and testing mode allows the therapist to exercise or test any major joint of
the extremities.Valuable information is
gained including limb speed, work, power and acceleration.This can be compared to the unaffected
extremity providing comparisons to the uninvolved side.
Burch Physical Therapy utilizes the
Biodex S3 isokinetic equipment that is used in orthopaedic and sports
rehabilitation, and industrial medicine.
Testing and strength training modes can be used on a variety of patient
populations and is currently being utilized by over 40 NFL, MLB, and NBA teams.
